Hockey Director & Administrator Program - USAH

The Hockey Director & Administrator program is designed for hockey directors, goaltender development coaches and program administrators. Participants will learn how to implement advanced, modern player development techniques while also using USA Hockey programs to maximize the growth and sustainability of their hockey programs. Participants will also learn how to develop and conduct programs using ADM principles.

New in 2018, there will be 3 separate tracks within the program to choose from.

Track 1. Hockey Director Track Topics (Classroom & On-Ice):

  • Role of an effective Hockey Director
  • Understanding & capitalizing on LTAD principles
  • How to successfully implement the ADM into your program
  • Off-ice and on-ice player development
  • Teaching better body contact and body-checking
  • Using the new features in the USA Hockey Mobile Coaching App

Track 2. Goaltending Coach Development (Classroom & On-Ice):
Hockey Director Track topics above Plus:

  • 8 hours of goaltending coach specific topics
  • Off-ice and On-ice goaltender development
  • Modern goaltending coach training and development
  • Participants will also receive USA Hockey Silver Level goaltending coach certification

Track 3. Program Administrator (Classroom Only):
Hockey Director Track topics Plus:

  • Understanding & implementing USA Hockey’s Club Excellence Program
  • Best practices for recruiting & retaining new players, coaches and volunteers
  • Parent Education
  • USA Hockey SafeSport
  • Club leadership & management best practices

*Participants in the Hockey Director & Goaltending Coach Development tracks will
need to bring their skates, helmet, gloves and stick for the on-ice portion of class
