The U.S. Ice Rink Association (Formerly STAR) is a non-profit national membership organization for individuals, facilities and vendors in the ice rink and arena industry. Formed in 2000 through a joint venture between U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey with the intent of servicing the needs of ice skating facilities and their employees in the United States.
What policies do arena have in place for their user groups that arrive early for a scheduled ice time, but want to get on the ice early if no other rental is booked before them?
If no user group is on the ice before them, we currently allow a group to get on the ice no more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time and a couch must be inside the arena. If they arrive early and get on the ice more than 15 minutes before, they are charged for one full extra hour's use. This works, but just wanted to see what other facilities are doing in similar instances.
